Is your baby ready to add some protein to their solid food?
Why not start with some steamed salmon.

Salmon contains a massive quantity of Omega 3 Fatty Acids – great for hair, skin (eczema, dermatitis), cognitive development.

It is also a nutritional powerhouse, containing:
Protein, Potassium, Selenium, Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin), Vitamin B3 (Niacin) and Phosphorus.

Phosphorus:
Helps with Calcium Absorption, DNA Synthesis, Energy Metabolism within the body.

Potassium:
An electrolyte which maintains water balance & distribution, heart function, muscle nerve function, kidney and adrenal function.

Selenium:
Prevents free radical damage to cell membranes within the body, works with antioxidants.

Vitamin B3:
Plays a huge role in Energy Production and Metabolism.

Vitamin B12:
Essential for DNA Synthesis, stops the body being deficient in folic acid, increases nerve functions (deficiency usually results in a tell-tale sign: pins and needles, burning feet sensations, impaired mental function).

Protein:
Builds our hair, tendons, ligaments, muscles. Breaks down into Essential Amino Acids and runs our body basically.

Cooking
Why not try steaming Sweet potato with skin on, blend once ready.
Steam some Salmon with skin on in greaseproof paper to retain juices, and break it up over the blended sweet potato through your fingers. This ensure you catch any bones!
Add ginger if you baby has reflux or a delicate stomach.

Now freeze in weaning food trays- best ones I have tried are Nuk here and here.

Yum!
