Baby Porridge – Healthy Breakfast

Baby Porridge – Healthy Breakfast

Why not try organic porridge with fruit for babyโ€™s breakfast.

It is much healthier version than pre-powdered baby breakfast options that are on the market. Some of these contain sugar, tapioca starch, semolina, fillers etc!

Oats are gluten free, containing a protein called avenin which is similar to gluten.

So you can grind them up for baby for stage 1 weaning if you think they are ready. Otherwise stick to baby rice which might be lighter on the stomach.

Oats are a fabulous source of protein, and contain Calcium, Phosphorus, Iron, Magnesium, Zinc, Manganese and B Vitamins.

Stage 1 Weaning Recipe

25g/ 1 Oz Organic Porridge Oats

50g/ 2 Oz Fruit your baby likes (Small chunks mango, peach or blueberries work well)

250ml/ 9 Oz of Baby Milk

Method

Cook on low heat until it comes together. Let it cool. Blend with hand blender or free standing blender. Blend to your babyโ€™s level of weaning. Add more milk to lessen thickness. Poor into trays for freezing.

Stage 2 Weaning Recipe

25g/ 1 Oz Organic Porridge Oats

50g/ 2 Oz Fruit your baby likes (Small chunks mango, peach or blueberries work well)

350ml/ 12 Oz of Full Fat Organic Milk

Pinch of Cinnamon

1 Tablespoon of grated Carrot

Method

Same as above, but you can use a fork to mash as you wish, instead of the blender.

A warm start to the day for your little one!
